Islamorada Administration
Center and Public Safety HQ

The new 13,647 SF three story Village of Islamorada Administration Center, Fire Station #21 and Public Safety Headquarters is located directly on US-1 at Founder’s Field. This unique modern inspired facility was designed to withstand a 200 mile per hour hurricane event yet provide an easily identifiable elegant civic landmark for the community. This multi-purpose building is a model of efficiency and functionality for the island community. It services a number of Islamorada government agencies under one roof. The first floor supports the day-to-day work flow of village fire fighters and police officers. The firefighter portion includes 2 large apparatus bays and a hazmat decontamination room. In addition, it hosts 4 bunk rooms, an exercise area, laundry facility, day room, and kitchen, as well as offices for both the chief and the assistant fire chief. A fire watch call center, public lobby and private copy and records areas are shared with the village police department. Their portion of the building hosts the police captain’s office, sergeant’s office and regional officer’s workroom, as well as a conference room and roll call room. Multiple mechanical, medical and equipment storage rooms support the functionality of the space. The second floor supports the planning department and features a reception area, 15 building department offices, plotter room, copier room, conference room, building coordination office and telecom center. The remaining floor services the administrative functions of City Hall. 13 additional offices include the village manager, city engineer, finance director, and accounting offices, with additional conference room, telecom room and breakroom.
